curry leaves kuzhambu| karuvepellai kuzhambu| Pathiya kuzhambu

All Credit goes to my mother. she only prepared everything i just took the photo.This kuzhambu is called Pathiya Kozhambu  or balanced diet kozhambu . Usually after delivery all the women should take this kozhambu for good digestion and energy.

I was not feeling well also digestion problem So amma prepared this for every one. This is too good for health. Who ever can take this . Highly healthy .

Curry leaves - 1/2 cup
Pepper -  1 tsp
jeera or cumin seeds - 2tsp
Coriander seeds - 1 tsp
urad dal - 1 tbsp {white color}
channa dal - 1 tbsp
Toor dal - 1 tbsp
Red chilly - 4 to 5 {adjust according to your family taste}
Tamarind -  1 lemon size {soak in the water- 3 to 4 tsp of water - 20 minutes}
Asfotedia  -   apinch
Salt - as required
Gingelly oil - 150 ml


add some oil in the kadai and once heat add the curry leaves, pepper and jeera and fry till nice aroma comes. Keep aside.then add some more oil and once heat add the coriander seeds, urad dal, toor dal and red chilly. saute till dal gets red colour

Now grind all the sauted item along with the soaked tamarind.if water needed just add some water. make sure it is semi thick not liquid after grinding

Now heat the kadai add the gingelly oil . add this grinded semi gravy. allow it boil for 10 minutes.

 Serve hot with steam rice. If u feel more spicy add ghee and serve

Amma added some 3 tbsp of this kuzhambu to dosai batter and prepared dosai :) omg what a creativity and what a taste? its divine completely.


  • The taste is kind of semi spicy so you can add ghee or gingelly oil to rice.
  • we can keep this in fridge and use it for a week.
  • Do not compromise on gingelly oil. 
  • If needed some mustard seeds can be added.
